തീ (ti) - Meaning in English

വസ്തുക്കൾ കത്തുകയെന്ന ഓക്സീകരണപ്രക്രിയ(ജ്വലനരാസക്രിയ)യെ പൊതുവേ അഗ്നി അഥവാ തീ എന്നു പറയുന്നു. ഇതു നടക്കുമ്പോൾ അത്യുന്നതതാപനിലയിലുള്ള വാതകങ്ങൾ തീവ്രമായ പ്രകാശോർജ്ജത്തോടെ പുറത്തുവരുന്നതിനെ അഗ്നിജ്വാല എന്നു പറയുന്നു. ജ്വാല ഇല്ലാതേയും വസ്തുക്കളിൽ തീ സജീവമായി നിൽക്കാം. ജ്വലിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പദാർത്ഥത്തിനനുസരിച്ച്, അതിലെ ഘടകവസ്തുക്കൾക്കനുസരിച്ച് അഗ്നിജ്വാലയുടെ വർണവും തീവ്രതയും വ്യത്യാസപ്പെടുന്നു. അതുപോലെ ജ്വലനത്തിന്റെ തീവ്രതക്കും ബഹുമുഖതക്കും വേഗത്തിനുമനുസരിച്ച് തീ ആളിക്കത്തുകയോ ശാന്തമായി ജ്വലിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നു.
