अस्थियाँ या हड्डियाँ रीढ़धारी जीवों का वह कठोर अंग है जो अन्तःकंकाल का निर्माण करती हैं। यह शरीर को चलाने, सहारा देने और शरीर के विभिन्न अंगों की रक्षा करने में सहायता करती हैं साथ ही यह लाल और सफेद रक्त कोशिकाओं का निर्माण करने और खनिज लवणों का भंडारण का कार्य भी करती हैं। अस्थियाँ विभिन्न आकार और आकृति की होने के साथ वज़न में हल्की पर मजबूत होती हैं। इनकी आंतरिक और बाहरी संरचना जटिल होती है। अस्थि निर्माण का कार्य करने वाले प्रमुख ऊतकों में से एक उतक को खनिजीय अस्थि ऊतक, या सिर्फ अस्थि ऊतक भी कहते हैं और यह अस्थि को कठोरता और मधुकोशीय त्रिआयामी आंतरिक संरचना प्रदान करते हैं। अन्य प्रकार के अस्थि ऊतकों में मज्जा, अन्तर्स्थिकला और पेरिओस्टियम, तंत्रिकायें, रक्त वाहिकायें और उपास्थि शामिल हैं। वयस्क मानव के शरीर में 206 हड्डियां होती हैं वहीं शिशुओं में 275 से 300 तक हड्डियाँ पायी जातीं हैं।
