Compound interest is interest accumulated from a principal sum and previously accumulated interest. It is the result of reinvesting or retaining interest that would otherwise be paid out, or of the accumulation of debts from a borrower.
जब समय-समय पर अभी तक संचित हुए ब्याज को मूलधन में मिलाकर इस मिश्रधन पर ब्याज की गणना की जाती है तो इसे चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज कहते हैं। जिस अवधि के बाद ब्याज की गणना करके उसे मूलधन में जोड़ा जाता है, उसे चक्रवृद्धि अवधि कहते हैं।
