Tamil Nadu is the southern-most state of India. The tenth largest Indian state by area and the sixth largest by population, Tamil Nadu is the home of the Tamil people, whose Tamil language—one of the longest surviving classical languages in the world—is widely spoken in the state and serves as its official language. The capital and largest city is Chennai.

तमिल नाडु भारत का एक दक्षिणी राज्य है। तमिल नाडु की राजधानी चेन्नई (चेऩ्ऩै) है। तमिल नाडु के अन्य महत्त्वपूर्ण नगर मदुरै, त्रिचि (तिरुच्चि), कोयम्बतूर (कोऽयम्बुत्तूर), सेलम (सेऽलम), तिरूनेलवेली (तिरुनेल्वेऽली) हैं। इसके पड़ोसी राज्य आन्ध्र प्रदेश, कर्नाटक और केरल हैं। तमिल नाडु में बोली जाने वाली प्रमुख भाषा तमिल है। तमिल नाडु के वर्तमान मुख्यमन्त्री एम॰ के॰ स्टालिन और राज्यपाल रविन्द्र नारायण रवि हैं।
