Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C. Early symptoms of deficiency include weakness, feeling tired and sore arms and legs. Without treatment, decreased red blood cells, gum disease, changes to hair, and bleeding from the skin may occur. As scurvy worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding.

स्कर्वी विटामिन सी की कमी के कारण होने वाला एक रोग होता है। ये विटामिन मानव में कोलेजन के निर्माण के लिये आवश्यक होता है। इसमें शरीर खासकर जांघ और पैर में चकत्ते पड जाते हैं। रोग बढने पर मसूढ़े सूज जाते हैं और फ़िर दांत गिरने लगते हैं। विटामिन सी का रासायनिक नाम एस्कॉर्बिक अम्ल भी स्कर्वी के लैटिन भाषा के नाम स्कॉर्बिटस में ये रोग ना होने की स्थिति के लिये विलोम रूप में अंग्रेज़ी का अक्षर ए-उप्सर्ग लगा दिया जाता है, जिससे एस्कॉर्बिक एसिड मिलता है। मसूढ़ों में सूजन, दांत गिरना व रोगी का चेहरा पीला पड़ जाना इसके खास लक्षण हैं।
