Coaching is a form of development in which an experienced person, called a coach, supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance. The learner is sometimes called a coachee. Occasionally, coaching may mean an informal relationship between two people, of whom one has more experience and expertise than the other and offers advice and guidance as the latter learns; but coaching differs from mentoring by focusing on specific tasks or objectives, as opposed to more general goals or overall development.

कोचिंग (Coaching) अथवा प्रशिक्षण अथवा अनुशिक्षण विकास का एक रूप है जिसमें कोई अनुभवी व्यक्ति सीखने वाले अथवा ग्राहक को किसी विशिष्ट व्यक्तिगत अथवा पैशेवर लक्ष्य के लिए प्रशिक्षण और मार्गदर्शन देता है। यह कार्य करवाने वाले अनुभवी व्यक्ति को प्रशिक्षक कहा जाता है और यह सिखने वाले को प्रशिक्षित कहा जाता है। अक्सर कोचिंग शब्द दो व्यक्तियों के मध्य के उस अनौपचारिक सम्बंध के लिए भी काम में लिया जाने वाला शब्द है जिसमें एक व्यक्ति दूसरे से अधिक अनुभव और विशेषज्ञता रखता है और दूसरे को सिखाने के लिए मार्गदर्शन और सलाह देता है; लेकिन कोचिंग शब्द परामर्शदाता अथवा सलाहकार से भिन्नता रखता है जहाँ किसी विशेष कार्य अथवा उद्देश्य पर केंद्रित किया जाता है जो अधिक सामान्य लक्ष्य अथवा पूर्णरूप से विकसित करने से विपरीत होता है।
