Hi everyone,
I’m starting this new topic with the hope that I may share some useful skills and tips on learning better written and spoken English - that I was fortunate enough to learn - with my fellow forum members.
So, here is the very basic tip on learning better English the quick way:
1. Listening
2. Speaking
3. Reading
4. Writing
1. Listening: Listen to English spoken by native speakers as much as possible. For this purpose, you can use radio, TV or movies. Don’t attemp to decode the meaning of the sounds you hear. Just go on listening. Have patience.
2. Speaking: Try to speak as much English as possible. Begin with a like-minded friend of yours. Remeber there is nothing wrong if you can’t complete your sentence in English. Just speak “Hinglish” and try to insert as much English words and phrases into them.
3. Reading: Read anything and everything you get to lay your hands on including that scrap of an old newspaper that you get from your local vendor with some stuff wrapped with it.
4. Writing: Develope the habit of keeping a piece of paper or a small notebook and a pen handy and feel free to write something in your spare moments. This will not only improve your English but also your handwriting.
Well, these are the most basic tips which would suffice for today.
BTW, anyone is welcome to post comments, corrections and tips or skills. Let’s each of us learn something from each other.
Cheers!
