Just came across this old thread.
@Zoya, I don’t think the author meant तण्हा the buddhist stuff, but probably तन्हा, the Urdu word.
Seems a list of words straight from Ghazals. . Anyway, here are the meanings I know of :
1.Tanha : तन्हा, Lonely or alone.
2.Aahat : आहट, Noise which breaks silence.
3.raunaq : रौनक, Glow, shine/shimmer/light/pride it has many direct/indirect meanings.
4.mehsoos : महसूस (verb), Feel
5.Kambakt : ‘Kambakht’ - कमबख्त. ‘Bakht’ means luck/fortune, Kambakht literally is ‘fortune-less’. General meaning: unlucky/cursed/damned.
6.Mehfil : महफ़िल, Social or public gathering/Party/group of people
7.Jamele : I guess you meant ‘Jhamele’, झमेले - Problems/troubles
8.Alfaaz : अलफ़ाज़, (urdu) meaning ‘words’,
9.Aaghaz - आग़ाज़, Beginning.
10.Maksat - I guess you meant ‘Maksad’, मकसद, which means Purpose/motive/objective
