Memberwhen we say “how have you been?” and how are you? both are same or is there any difference? what’s up? these are few introductory questions which always makes me curious because if we are to translate it in hindi, it’s meaning would be different.
explain…

MemberThere is little or no difference in the way we speak them to someone.
How have you been? - kaisa chal raha hai aapka?
How are you?- kaise ho aap?
What’s up? Kya chal raha hai?
This is what I know!

ModeratorThere actually is a bit of difference between “How are you” and “How have you been”.
“How are you?” is asking about how is the person right now.
e.g. simply
“How are you?” or
“How are you feeling now? “(could be asked to someone who had been ill)
“How have you been?” means he is asking for a longer time duration, like “his haal” for past few days.
e.g. (with a tone of surprise) “Oh! Vijay Deenanath Chauhan! It has been so long since I saw you last ! How have you been?”
meaning : बहुत वक्त हो गया तुम्हे देखे हुए ! कैसे हैं (और थे) आजकल (इन सारे दिनों में) आप?
To which Vijay might answer: “I have been doing good. Washed away the false blame on my father’s name, got my sister married, and gave our old village Maandva back to my mother 😊 “.
