I know that there is a separate Sanskrit forum, but there is zero activity—I came to where the action is. I am translating a book on the goddess Arya Tara from Tibetan. The English translation of the term from Tibetan is “the tree of no suffering.” I searched a database of Sanskrit texts and got this text Aśokakāṇḍāmārīcīsādhana. Sadhana=practice text. Marici=rays of light. I need to know if the diacritics are correct when Aśokakāṇḍā stands by itself—I wonder if the long ā is still necessary.

Any help much appreciated.

As an aside, I have a Tibetan name that mean “limitless [enlightened] activity”. I know the components: karma and ananta. If they are joined is it just karmaananta or karmananta or karmānanta or what exactly.

The reverse transliteration of Aśokakāṇḍāmārīcīsādhana is “अशॊककांडामारीचीसाधन”

I do not know all of this. But if it is “sadhana” in the end… as in “practice”, than the diacritic in ... sādhana should be sādhanā. Otherwise, it would be “means” for sādhana and not “practice”.

Also, overall, it does not look like अशॊककांडामारीचीसाधन or “Aśokakāṇḍāmārīcīsādhana ” is related to “tree of no suffering”. In this, Aśoka means “no suffering on its own as an independent word. But rest of it, I don’t know.
