Dwight Eisenhower

ModeratorThe President is probably making fun of those “planners/economists/ivory-tower thinkers/ theorists” who have not actually experienced the hot sun, wind, rain, and who are incapable of the sweat, mud and toil that is needed when actually working in a field and are content to make charts/ diagrams/ graphs / tables etc using pencils and paper, about agricultural production while sitting thousands of miles away in an air-conditioned office.
There are many such quotes from Military Generals showing contempt for the suggestions of politicians who have never been in a war or battle-field and faced bullets and bombs but who proudly give ideas to the armed forces on how to fight
Just my guess.
Narmaprem’s translation is excellent and I cannot improve it.
