Why do I have to go there?
Why do I have to do this?
“Why have I to do this? ” is also correct and so is “Why have I to go there?”

GV Sir,

You have written “Why have I to do this? ” is also correct and so is “Why have I to go there?”

My suggestion is:

“Why should I be doing this?”

“Why should I be going there.”

regards

Dear GV Sir,

I am more than delighted to help our fellow forum participants who need assistance in drafting grammatically correct phrases and sentences. It does not matter if it is for their office use. The fact that they are concerned about their English usage and equally concerned about presently it accurately is highly commendable.

I hope many participants would come forward to post their doubts and slowly and surely improve their skills in the English language over time.

Regards
Nathan
