MemberIn the context of the sad demise of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, one of the most searched words today has been RIP.
Not many people know the meaning. And we just added a Hindi equivalent for this word also.
The word RIP means Rest In Peace. It is an expression of prayer and well wishes for the departed soul.
In Hindi, there is no short form like the “RIP” word.
But, here are some of the equivalents in Hindi in long form -
दिवंगत आत्मा को शांति मिले
आत्मा को शांति मिले
आत्मा को शांति प्राप्त हो

Mere khayal se jo sabse jada popular ho kewal wahi add kre. Kyoki ye never ending list h, khatam toh nhi hogi par badti jayegi.

Moderatorआत्मा अमर है यह ध्रुव सत्य है, गीता भी यही कहती है। लेकिन यदि इस धरती पर एक शरीर में विचर रही आत्मा, शरीर छोड़ कर, अंतरिक्ष में विलीन हुई है तो उसे दिवंगत ही कहा जाना उचित है । यदि केवल हम यह कहें कि ”आत्मा को शांति मिले” तो यह सर्वनामी और सर्वव्यापी हो जायगा, व्यक्ति विशेष या घटना विशेष को इंगित नहीं करेगा । इसलिये घटना विशेष के संदर्भ में ”दिवंगत आत्मा को शांति मिले” बोला और लिखा जाना ही उचित है । अधिकांश शोक सभाओं में यही प्रार्थना की जाती है कि “दिवंगत आत्मा को शांति मिले” और यही प्रचलित भी है ।
