Nowadays the posts are increasing.
Many members are active unlike a couple of years ago
I think the criteria for various designations have been reviewed and and now it needs more posts to get the same designation.
Sakshi had posted once on how many posts are required for each designation.
I think the criteria for Senior member has been increased from 250 to 500.
Keep posting. Soon you will reach 500.
The highest you can reach is Guru Member, after 5000 posts.
No more promotions after that.

Yes, the ranking system has been slightly changed given that many more members are active.

Member - 50 posts
Senior Member - 500 posts
Star Member - 1000 posts
Super Star Member - 2000 posts
Guru Member - 5000 posts

Thanks.

I also was a Star Member but I haven't posted for a few days.
So I too became a Senior member.

Promotion should not be stop. some position should be there after Guru Member. I suggest Maha Guru Mamber.

Yes, I agree there should be scope for further promotions.
Very soon, we will have quite a few Guru Members based on number of posts.

But deciding a designation only on the number of posts is not the best way.
There must be a system of weightages for the posting.
Posts that are answers must be given more weightage than posts that ask questions.
Posts that merely say "I agree" or "Thank you" must not be counted at all.
Short, single sentence posts must be given less weightage than posts that run in to a whole paragraph since they involve more effort.
The quality of the posting must be given due weightage.
But how will the web site software handle all this?
Who will decide the weightage and which post deserves what weightage?

A simple method is to have a "Like" button for each post.
Other members can click on Like if they feel it was good.
The sum total of Likes collected by a member should be considered for promotion, in addition to number of posts.
But all this will needlessly complicate everything.
Let the Administrator decide. Whatever he decides is okay with me.
