@gv sir

Kya tum market gaye the?
Had you gone to market

Kya tumne electricity bill diya tha?
Had you given electricity bill

Is it correct? ??

Because few teachers on this forum are saying it is right and few are saying it is wrong

Kya tum market gaye the?
1. Had you gone to market?
—Did you go to the market?

Kya tumne electricity bill diya tha?
2.Had you given electricity bill?
—Did you give the electricity bill?

Because few teachers on this forum are saying it is right and few are saying it is wrong.
—No teacher is here but learner. If you follow the grammar rules, then you should not have asked this question. As per Past Perfect definition, 1 and 2 don’t fit there. I would rather say it ungrammatical than wrong.

Sentences depand on situations.

Jab main waha geya to us ne bill de diya tha.
When I went there, Then He had given the bill.

Don’t get confused. Both are right according to me. Because English is a very flexible langugage.

I am also telling it is right..

Please read this carefully..
If two actions heppened in past, we have to see which action happened earlier than the other. In earlier action, We use Past Perfect form and in the later we use Simple Past Tense.

=====He had left his house when I reached there.

=====He had paid his dues before we asked him to do so.

I hope, this will help you.

@Ts

I know this concept since class 6th

=====He had left his house when I reached there.

=====He paid his dues before we asked him to do so.

In above sentence two actions are present

But
Had you gone to the market

Iss me ek hi action hai dosara kaha hai???
