No, “Sakshi”! I think, “would” is better than “could” because ‘could’ shows an element of ability which will not be suitable in some cases.

Example
1. Would you explain to me?
2. Could you explain to me?

Listening the second, the hearer may think that the speaker is suspecting his ability to explain. But the (1) while listening the hearer will seldom have such ill-notion.
