I’m afraid, “chadna(on stairs)” is not phrased in English “climb”. ‘Go up the stairs’ is the normally used phrase.

paapar—पापड़—lentil wafer

I think, the correct word in English for this is poppadom. Ref: http://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/poppadom?q=poppadom

@DP
Yes, you are right.
New words have crept into the Oxford dictionary and “poppadom” is one of them I guess.
It is obviously a corruption of the Tamil / Malayaalam word pappadaam ( പപ്പഡാമ്  பப்படாம்)

I wonder when “Idly” will be accepted.
Right now the English word is “Steamed Rice and Lentil dumplings”
