gvshwnth
Moderatorचाचाजी, मामाजी, ताऊजी, मौसाजी, फूफाजी, if the relationship is clear.
Otherwise, depending on the context, situation, and circumstances you can say
साहबजी, श्रीमानजी, सर जी, महाशय, लालाजी, हुज़ूर, जनाब, बाबुजी etc.
These are what came to my mind.
Opinions of others are welcome.

New MemberThanks for your replies. And what would be the word for addressing an elder who is a stranger to us and thus having no relation with me?
gvshwnth

Sometimes you can simply say भाईसाहब if the person is not too old
If you are uncertain, simply say “jee”
