Beating around the bush means avoiding the main point or topic by talking anything but what actually matters. This is the most popular and most-used sense.

Ex:He answered the questions without beating around the bush.
usne bina idhar udhar ki baatein kiye sawaalon ka (seedha-seedha) jawab diya.

Beating around the bush wouldn’t make the bitter words any easier to say.
Idhar udhar ki baatein karne se un kadwe shabdo ko kahna aasaan nahi ho jayega.

However in different contexts it will mean the same thing with different actions, meaning to avoid the main action that is the focus of the conversation, story, etc.

K.

Agree with Kit13’s explanaitons:
In Hindi :
beat about the bush

Beating around the bush means
