New Memberजब अमरीकी सेना की आलोचना पूरे विश्व में होने लगी तब राष्ट्रपति निक्सन ने पाँच सूत्री योजना की घोषणा की। 1)हिन्द-चीन की सभी सेनाएँ युद्ध बंद कर यथा स्थान पर रहे।2)युद्ध विराम की देखरेख अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यवेक्षक करेंगे।3)इस दौरान कोई देश अपनी शक्ति बढाने का प्रयत्न नहीं करेगा।4)युद्ध विराम के दौरान सभी तरह की लड़ाइयाँ बंद रहेंगी।5)युद्ध विराम का अंतिम लक्ष्य समूचे हिन्द-चीन में संघर्ष का अंत होगा।
