Your translation would be perfect if the orignal sentence had been:
....phir main vaapas aajaaunga
The situation is unclear. It may be that somebody has sent someone somewhere in advance and is reassuring the person.
For example if a man is sending his wife alone to another place and she is not too happy about it, he may like to say:
“It’s just a matter of a few days, and then I will be there.”
