मगर Police were called को अगर हम हिंदी में पढें तो कुछ इस प्रकार होगी।
“पुलिस को बुलाया गया था”
“पुलिस को बुलाया गया और पुलिस बुलाई गई” दोनों वाक्य पढनें में अवश्य लगते हैं। परंतु दोनों वाक्यों का सार<भावार्थ> एक ही हैं। और वैसे “पुलिस बुलाई गई” का अनुवाद “Police called” बनता हैं परंतु इतना छोटा वाक्य मुझे पढने में प्रभावशाली नहीं लगता इसलिए मैंने इसका थोड़ा विस्तार कर दिया हैं।
