“om shanti om” and “lajja”. These are not Urdu words, rather they have been taken from Hindi, Sanskrit being its root.
1.) om shanti om:
“om” is the word which is chanted in meditation, worships etc. (They say, it directly connects you the peace and Almighty.)
shanti means peace in English or “sukoon” in Urdu.
The idea behind chanting “Om shanti om” is “May the peace prevail everywhere!”
2.) lajja:
It simply means modesty or decency in English or “haya” in Urdu.
