how do you say in hindi ‘’ you are asking too much’’  when negotiating for a price, in a store or market for example.

yeh bahut mahenga hai
yeh bahut kimati hai
is it correct to say its very expensive?

thank you,

Alex

‘Keemti’  in Hindi actually means’ valuable’ - say you buy a good house at a high cost, you can say ‘yah makan bahut keemti hai.’ and if you get a good advice, you can say aapki raay mere liye bahut keemti hai.

Mr. rkbangia and Mr. Avdhesh has already provided a very good answer.

Yah rate / keemat to bahut jyada hai, kuch kam karo na (यह रेट / कीमत तो बहुत ज्‍यादा है, कुछ कम करो न) may be most appropriate to negotiate the price.

’ pooch’ means asking, ‘maang’ means demanding, so - ‘aap zyada maang rahe hai’  is more appropriate. ‘bahut zyada’ means too much, so you can also say - ‘aap bahut zyada maang rahe hai’ and further add that - kuch kam karo naa. (reduce to some extent please)
