Some websites are starting to provide free hindi content that can be downloaded. Due to limited support for Hindi on electronic devices, there are hardly any e-texts that can be downloaded for use on something other than the computer.

• Hindi Classics from Premchand at CDAC Site
  This digital e-library effort contains decent collection of Hindi fiction. You will mainly find Premchand's works. The books are available in MS Word and DJVU format. This site is down once in a while.
• Hindi Poetry
  You can get a feel for hindi poetry on this site. Most of the content is not in Unicode. So, you may have to install TTF fonts. Also, the content must be either printed or read on-screen as there is no download facility.
